Josie joins OLE as a veteran teacher and instructional leader. She was lucky to begin her career at South High School, which specialized in instruction and services for refugee families throughout Denver. In addition to teaching a diverse student body, she designed curricula, coached and supervised teachers, and co-planned differentiated faculty professional development. The inclusive environment and inspiring student success at South inspired her to continue work in developing the best systems for refugee education. She completed her Master’s in International Education Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she participated in projects supporting innovative approaches to education in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Madagascar and Latin America. She also served as an advisor and mentor for Harvard’s Teacher Education program. She continues to support local and international organizations as a volunteer and advisor.
