Activity Based Learning

Unleashing our children’s potential to learn starts with fundamentally changing the traditional roles of teacher and student. The teacher must no longer be charged with depositing information into a child, but rather, should work alongside the child as a Learning Coach and support their individual path of learning and discovery. Students must be empowered to take charge of their own learning and allowed to work at their own pace, achieving goals on their own learning ladder.

OLE uses this activity based learning model.  While we consider this to be a forward thinking approach to education, activity based learning has been around for many years.  Some of the advantages of this type of learning are:

  • Children enjoy learning
  • Children can learn at their own pace.  Fast learners can move ahead and not be held back from learning more and slower learners can take the time to master their skills.

Children overall learn far more with this method than traditional methods of teaching
